On my road to success, the one thing, I’ve discovered with many Corporate Mom Dropouts (CMD’s) and Women Business Owners is that they are battling with constant “Fear”. It is a word that means self-sabotage, I personally I don’t like to use that word in my vocabulary but here is the truth. Many of us WAHMS, SAHMS, Mompreneurs and CMD’s have either fear of failure or fear of success. Both can keep you from moving forward in your business and personal life.

But, here is the part that really hurts…

The fear we encounter and sometimes embrace comes from:

* Lack of skill
* Low self esteem- even when we appear to believe in ourselves, the truth is our heart and mind is not in alignment
* Seeking approval and permission- to be who we are and constantly looking for validation from others
* Lack of mentorship or not having a coach
* Super woman syndrome- feeling as if we can please everyone ALL the time ( I learned this the hard way

Speaking for myself I have been made to feel responsible for so much, for so long, there was a part of me that truly believed that I had to do it ALL. I was the clean up woman and the fix it lady. I felt I had to fix and clean up the emotional mess of my family, my friends, things that happened to my business colleges and all most anything that came along. The more I fixed the more I was avoiding looking at the things that were wrong with ME, The more I fixed the more I was exhausted but felt whole, and needed and not broken.

As Corporate Mom Dropouts, Mompreneurs, and Businesswomen we owe it to ourselves and to our life to assist and support, with a clause to remember that we cannot give what we do not have. A major part of holding your self-back and self-sabotaging your success if you are not giving to YOU first.

What I would like you to do is list 10 reasons why you deserve to be successful. This is essential and crucial to creating a mind shift, no matter what phase you are in or what projects you are working on. At times, we have to re evaluate ourselves and take a step back, in order to make 10 steps forward. After you complete your list, jot down what you are currently doing that may be detouring you from achieving your goal.

Have you ever been searching the Internet and found a picture of an item that you would love to have in your dream office? Instead of bookmarking the site and worrying about remembering what you bookmarked it for, pin it to a virtual pin board. Pinterest is a new social media site that allows users to gather photos and tips from around the web and pin them to their virtual bulletin boards. Use it to create your dream home office.

The Basics
After signing up for a Pinterest account, set-up a board just for your dream home office. “My Dream Workspace” or “A Work-at-Home Mom’s Dream Office” would be fun and inviting, but any name you select would work fine. Download the applet for your browser toolbar to make pinning as easy as the click of a button. As you surf the Internet, make special note of any pictures, articles, or ideas that you would like to include in your dream office. Simply click the “Pin It!” icon that you have installed on your toolbar and you will be able to pin the image and the original site link to your board. You can also download the smartphone app to pin while on the go.

Fine Furniture
When you are designing your dream home office, think about the things that would make it stand out and truly feel like your own. Start by finding furniture that suits your style. Are you a fan of shabby chic decor? Perhaps a white, distressed desk or table would be perfect for you. Do you love the look of a particular style? Find examples of your dream desk, chair, and cabinet system and pin those too! There is no right or wrong, so if you are debating between two different styles, pin them both!

Accessories
How do you want to decorate the walls of your dream home office? Find the pieces, whether they are delicate watercolors or stately metal art sculptures, and pin them to your board. You can even ask others which piece they like best or put the price in the description so that you can keep track of how much your dream office might cost. Desk accessories, like staplers, lamps, blotters, and more, are also ideal for pinning.

Office Supplies
As any work-at-home mom knows, office supplies are like toys to the working woman. Colorful paperclips, fancy notepads, and handmade paperweights are all fun things to add to your board. Remember, this is your dream office, so the sky is the limit for what you pin and there is no “bad” pin.

Have fun pinning the things that you’d like to include in your dream home office. Pinterest allows you to save the things that catch your eye so that when the time comes, you will be able to remember all of the things that you would like to have in your new space. Once you fall in love with the idea of pinning your finds from around the web, you may find yourself creating virtual bulletin boards for your kitchen remodel, children’s rooms, bathroom decor, and more. Happy pinning!

The New Year is a time when home party business consultants can revamp their office and add some new organizational techniques to their home business business systems. The classic New Year’s resolution is a perfect excuse to add some new systems to your direct selling office management repetoire.

Becoming More Organized in Party Plan Businesses Next Year
The old year is almost over and the new year is right around the corner. Time to think about a New Year?s resolution or two. If you own a home party business, one of the most common resolutions is to become more organized in the new year. Party plan office organization is one of the best things you can do for your business and your stress level!

As a home based business business owner, it is important to think of January as the “Get Organized” Month. WAHM Business owners often get so busy and consumed by the actual operation of their business that organization begins to crumble and things start to get messy. Use the start of 2012 to get your business organized.

Get Your Party Plan Business Organized In New Year

* Create a WAHM business plan. Every business needs one to succeed. Even if you already have a business plan, the start of a new year is the ideal time to revise the old one. A business plan is the outline for your business and should incorporate all aspects of your business.

* Create a filing system for all your papers and documents. If you already have a filing system, the new year marks a great time to clean it out. Your filing should consist of papers that require immediate action, papers that are important but are not of immediate concern, important documents, reference materials, and stuff you should have thrown out a long time ago. Throw that old junk out!

* For all your papers that you need for reference, create an easy to use system. Many business owners spend an inordinate amount of time looking for information or documents. Start the new year by organizing these papers and you?ll save tons of time during the remainder of the year.

* Go through all your papers, documents, and materials one more time. A large percentage of all saved materials are never used again. When people clean out their closets, they apply the rule that if it hasn?t been worn during the past year, it can be eliminated. This rule works for much of your paperwork, though there are obviously some documents you will need as long as you are in business.

When you take the time to clean house you will be more effective in the new year. All businesses are a work in progress and yours should be no exception. A short afternoon of office re-organization will kick your WAHM business off on a good trackfor the new year.

I can’t believe it is 2012 where did the year go? I am excited about what 2012 will bring. Personally I will be trying very hard to make a change to be more healthy and the best shape I can be in. I am sure this is a resolution many try to aim for each year. I know I have in the past… but for some reason I have more motivation this year! I want to be the best I can be in business and my health! What about you? What are your goals for 2012?

There will also be many changes for MomsCareer this year. We recently got a new and trendy look and we will also be getting a new forum as well and a new logo! I can’t wait until everything is finished.

When I started MomsCareer in 2001, it was my goal to bring quality work at home opportunities resources and products to Women. That is still my goal. Keep checking back because MomsCareer has the newest and most profitable opportunities and we will be adding many more resources as well. This will not only help you to succesfully start your business but also be succesful in 2012 as well as the years to come

I hope you have a great week!

The use of social media is one of the best ways for people in direct sales to network. Twitter and Facebook are two of the best ways to network and gain a customer base. Facebook has been undergoing some radical changes, including the new Time Line. How will this affect how you will be marketing your business and will it be a set back?

The Time Line Feature is quite interactive and visually more appealing but the old look was more simple and user-friendly. It will be challenging to use the new changes but change can definitely be a good thing. Just as technology is constantly evolving we also have to evolve when it comes to marketing.

All in all though I do think that the new look is quite appealing and I am can’t wait to be able to see how it can improve business relationships on Facebook.

How do you feel about the new look on Facebook? Leave your comments here!

I can’t believe that Thanksgiving is only two days away! Where does the time go? I always get excited about thanksgiving and especially christmas, but at this time of the year your business can become very slow if you are not careful. I ran across this article and thought I would share. I usually write my own but always love to add great articles when I find them. It is so important to advertise your business! Especially online, MomsCareer is a great way of being seen, but there are other ways too!

During the holiday season advertising is a must if you want to grow. People won’t know what you offer or how you can help them if you don’t show them. There are a number of different ways to advertise your business during the holiday season or for any time of year for that matter. Here are a few.

1. Banner or button ads
2. Text ads
3. Link ads
4. Facebook or Twitter ads
5. Facebook or Twitter parties
6. Article marketing
7. Blog posts
8. Online parties

Each of these will work if you do them correctly. Banner or button ads, text ads, and link ads will only work if you place them on sites that are geared to your market. For example, if your business deals with baby items, you wouldn’t want to place an ad on a site specifically for men. You want your market to see your ad and if it’s placed on a site that’s not geared to your market, it’s not going to happen.

Facebook or Twitter ads are ones you write and post on your profile page. Make sure you write your ads so they’re geared to your market and that you make them want to click through. This may be a challenge with the limited number of characters, so you might consider using a blog post to do it.

Article marketing gives you the ability to increase the traffic to your site based on the bio you use. One thing to remember is your articles will be viewed during any time of year, so you might not want to write it so it’s specifically for the holidays. While this will work on holiday type articles, if you only have your holiday link up for a short time, you run the risk of losing them because the page doesn’t exist.

Your blog is a great way to increase the traffic to your site which is perfect for the holiday season. One way to do this is to write posts that are geared to your holiday products or services. Make sure you don’t write your posts like an ad. Try to show your market why they need to purchase your product or use your service. Make sure you include deadlines or the day you’ll stop offering this so people that read it months later won’t think they can get the special.
Online parties are a great way to share your site and business with others. During the holiday season there are vendor parties and holiday vendor fairs and these are perfect for business owners to participate in. They give you the ability to share your business and have a lot of people advertising it along with you.

Advertising your business during the holiday season is the only way people in other locations will know what you offer and how you can help them with their purchases. These eight suggestions will help you to make it happen. The best way may not be listed here, but you need to consider these just to be sure.

How many of you struggle with convincing people that you have a real career/job? I think that it really doesn’t matter what people think but it can be very annoying. I seem to have a problem with well meaning friends that assume that I can just drop what I am doing at any given moment to go shopping or go to lunch, or hang out. Yes I am my own boss but I have to be very disciplined. Even though there are more and more people every day that own their own business and work from home it is still very misunderstood and devalued. Even my own daughter will come home from school and tell me about her hard day and think that I did nothing. She doesn’t always see me on the phone with clients, closing sales, sending out promotional letters and all the things that I do in my day to day business. Would love to hear some of the experiences you have had with working from home juggling family and being taken seriously! Comment away

The first and most important thing about starting up a business, any business, and being successful and being able to work from home, is making it possible for customers to find you. The second and probably just as important is having a strong, solid primary business. After that the rest is advertise, explore, advertise, learn, advertise, consistency, and did I mention – advertise?!

If you are a very social person and do not like to be home for long periods of time this is not for you! If you are not self -disciplined to work at home is not for you. It is so easy to sleep in and forget about work but this can never happen to be succesful. Just as you would be disciplined when going into work the same goes from working from home.

I decided to go into Advertising in 2001 after being in sales for many years. Advertising business opportunity on the Internet is just exploding with possibilities. This is one of the most profitable endeavors available in the field of Internet advertising. If you have advertising experience and know even the basics of Internet, you have potential to start your own advertising business on the Internet. MomsCareer has been very succesful for me and has enabled me to work from home since 2002!

These days an internet marketing strategy plays a vital part of small business marketing strategies (or any size business marketing strategies for that matter). Web site marketing is an important part of just about any business, small or large.

You can’t put up a beautiful (or any) web site and hope that people will just arrive. You have to let them know, IN EVERY POSSIBLE WAY, that your web site is there. This HAS to be part of any Internet marketing strategy you develop. This is actually a basic marketing principle. Customers are not going to look for you, you have to look for them. When I decided to work from home I made sure that I kept up on all marketing strategies. It is a constant learning challenge and things change all the time. So learn everything you can in your spare time

sometimes the simplest data is the best. Marketing is not complex if you know the basics – that’s true with anything by the way.

How good is it to start a small home base business opportunity? Small home base Internet marketing business opened new doors of opportunity for individuals who thought that staring a home business is almost impossible without huge starting capital. In fact, operating an Internet marketing business gives anyone the opportunity of working anytime and anywhere—as long as there is the presence of the Internet in a given geographical location.

I recently mentioned a comment that Donald Trump made recently. I ran across an article about it and decided to add it to my blog… When Donald Trump was on The Tonight Show, he was asked what he would do if he had the choice to go back and start over. He said loud & clear…NETWORK MARKETING…! The audience snickered but Donald, without batting an eye turned to them & said, “That’s why I’m up here, and YOU’RE still sitting out there.”

I so agree sometimes I believe that the Internet is like the gold rush of our time and there are many of us that will become very succesful and some of us are going to ride the wave of success. There are so many possibilities and the sky is the limit. I have seen many people become succesful in network marketing. It is very exciting to think you can demand your own salary and can leave behind a mundane job making the same money every week!

I believe that we all have that entrepreneurial spirit that keeps us always seeking and focusing on how we can be succesful and succeed. If you have been a success in networking marketing and want to share your story, reserve your spot on our testimonials. Contact me for more information at kelly@momscareer.com

It doesn’t matter who we are working with or who our customers are, we need to be serious about business but not take things too personal. We all are going to have different opinions, ways of working and goals. I believe in any type of business be it network marketing/direct sales, we really need to keep a positive attitude. unfortunately in the business world people will often be in it only for themselves and they don’t look at the overall picture. If greed plays a part in your business world, you will never succeed. Sometimes people only see what they do for others and forget to see what someone has done for them. After many years in network marketing I have seen it all and business isn’t fun and games. Sometimes we just have to grin and bear it!
